I love the beginning of the school year.  I love getting my room ready and the anticipation of the new students.  I finished my room today.  I love how it turned out and now I'm ready to focus on getting ready for the first week of school.

New Apps

At ISTE 2016 I was able to learn about some great new apps. I am excited about putting them to use this coming school year. Here are some of my favorites: BeeLine Reader. It is great to help students with reading disabilities. Aurasma is a great app that is easy to use for augmented reality. I am planning on using this for the students to get to know each other. I LOVE Seesaw. It is a great digital portfolio for students. Parents can access the students work as well. Another huge take away from ISTE was a new company I discovered called IPEVO. It is a company that makes affordable interactive technology. They have an interactive whiteboard for $169. It is great for teachers because it is easy to use and affordable. They also have document cameras that are inexpensive but great quality. I am very impressed and am excited to use these products and tell others about them. I am also looking forward to using the OSMO coding pieces. I got to play with them at ISTE and they were fun. I am ready to implement them with my students this fall. It is fun to have the summer to learn about new technology. I am getting excited to start the new school year.

ISTE Highlights Well, 2 days of ISTE and my brain is full. It has been great. Here are a few things I have already tried and LOVE! 1. Aurasma is a great app that lets you take objects and turn them into augmented reality experiences for you students. You can use pictures or videos. I will post samples soon. 2. Seesaw is the buzz around ISTE this year. If you haven't looked into it you should. I am lucky to be an ambassador and get to explain and help teachers fall in love with it like I did. 3. Brain Pop is so cool. I need to learn so much more about all the features it offers. I was so excited to see them. I also got my picture take with Moby.

4. I met a company called IPEVO and they have an interactive whiteboard for $169. It is nice! I love the price and I am starting to look at the software. I love companies who make great technology affordable for all. I will post more about apps!
