1:1 iPad Classroom

Having each student on an iPad has changed how I do everything as a teacher.  I can now differentiate my teaching to meet the needs of my students at a touch of my finger.

Here are a few things I created that have helped with this.
1.  An interactive word wall.  This is created with Google Presentation.  Each week we update words that relate to our spelling pattern.  I can also add words that students are misspelling during writing workshop.  Each student has this on their home page of his/her iPad.

2.  These are sight word slide shows made in Google Presentations.  They are timed for the student to build fluency.  These are placed on the home page of his/her iPad.  Once these words are mastered then the next set is added.  They are virtual flashcards.  Below is one example.

3.  The sight word slide shows work great but some students need more support.  These are screen cast videos of the Google Presentations with audio.  These are great for students because they are able to practice correctly and build fluency.

4.  My guided reading homework has changed as well.  My students now have a QR code on a folder that is scanned at home.  The QR code is linked to a Google doc that allows the parent to see what book their child needs to read that night for homework.  I am using Raz-Kids.  It is great because students cannot forget or loose the book.  Raz-Kids also have build in comprehension quizzes that help me monitor student progress.

5.  Data collection is great because I have a Google Form for each group that I type notes into.  This way I can search the students name to find information that I have collected on them.
I have them for reading, writing and am working on math.

I am adding things as fast as the students need them.  Please let me know what you think!
